Motherhood Unfiltered: Mother Worry
Because motherhood shouldn’t feel like waiting for something to go wrong.
Service Description
Did I pack everything? Are they getting enough sleep? Is that cough something? Are they falling behind? Are they making friends? Am I giving them enough attention? Too much screen time? Should I email the teacher? What if something happens? What if I miss something important? Motherhood can feel like being handed responsibility for another human being—and then being told that a “good mother” should somehow anticipate everything that could possibly go wrong. No wonder we worry. **Motherhood Unfiltered: Mother Worry** is a two-hour workshop exploring maternal anxiety through a feminist, compassionate, and nervous-system-informed lens. Instead of simply asking, *How do I stop worrying?*, we’ll look at why motherhood creates such fertile ground for worry in the first place. We’ll explore the mental load of constantly anticipating everyone’s needs, the pressure to prevent every possible harm, information overload, comparison, hypervigilance, intolerance of uncertainty, and the ways modern motherhood can convince us that if we just research enough, plan enough, check enough, and worry enough, we can keep the people we love safe. We’ll also talk about the uncomfortable truth at the heart of maternal anxiety: **loving someone deeply means living with uncertainty.** We cannot guarantee that our children will never struggle, hurt, fail, get sick, make mistakes, or experience disappointment—and accepting that can feel terrifying. Together, we’ll practice ways to notice when protective concern has crossed into anxiety, step out of the endless cycle of “what if,” build tolerance for uncertainty, and distinguish between what is actually ours to carry and what was never ours to control. Because the goal isn’t to become a mother who never worries. It’s to become a mother who can hear worry without letting it run the whole damn show.
